My guess on why they'd write it this way is because they want to ensure that the boxes can only contain the specific ships that were available when you bought it - otherwise you could buy e.g. Halfway through, you stopped and bought an Okhotnik, but at this point the box has already determined it contains an Okhotnik, so you get a "dupe". So, you bought the 20 boxes, one of which rolled an Okhotnik - which you didn't own at that point. when you purchase them - also check the contents of the other boxes in your account (including other boxes in the same purchase) to make sure there aren't any dupes. it would be super-Wargaming-like to have written it so that the boxes still check the premium ships you own when they are purchased, but then - at the same time, i.e. WG has stated that the boxes are coded so that the prize does not roll until the moment you open the box (not at the time of purchase like last year), and supposedly they are also coded to not give you any duplicates unless you already had all of them. I then started opening the boxes again and got.

PS: I got a De Grasse as well, so 2 ships out of 20 medium boxes, plus 1000 doubloons x8 and various flags & camo. We certainly need more data points to confirm either of these hypotheses, but I just thought I'd put that out there. So how did I get an Okhotnik? Zoup also got an Okhotnik but no other ship drops, so I'm wondering if there's a bug in the box coding that is allowing duplicate Okhotnik drops regardless of whether you have all the premiums or not, and perhaps disabling all other duplicate ship drops entirely (even if you have all of them). The first 10 gave me no ships, so at that point I decided that if I did get a ship I wanted to game it so that I didn't get an Okhotnik, and considering that I got a bunch of doubloons from the crates and the Okhotnik was 50% off on the tech tree (so 1350 doubloons), I bought an Okhotnik. I could not resist and bought 20 medium boxes this morning. So the weird thing about Zoup's video is that he got an Okhotnik as a duplicate and his only ship drop. NoZoupForYou bought $40 of various size boxes and only got one ship (but $100 worth of doubloons, camo, and signals, so it's not like they're an objectively bad deal). Also, the change to make sure you don't get dupe ships is good if you want ships, but bad if you want doubloons IIRC last year I got I think 3 Atlantas in one go, which was obviously good for a ton of cheap doubloons. Ships seem to be a lot more rare, camos a lot more common.

So - to make a long story short - if you can get Missouri before it goes away, you'll probably save yourself 200k or so free XP on its price over waiting for it to be reintroduced (assuming it ever is) or waiting for Musashi.Īlso, the Santa boxes seem to be kind of underwhelming compared to last year, at least on initial reports. Remove Missouri (they can even position it as, "This was a limited time introductory price for players who supported us early in the game's life," at least if they're smart), introduce Musashi at the "correct" price of 950k, and then if they ever reintroduce Missouri or another T9 premium the new price will be 950k. Given all that, I think it's entirely likely that Musashi will cost 950k free XP, and that WG is using this as an opportunity to increase the expected price for T9 Free XP ships. Sub_Octavian has also mentioned that if Missouri is ever reintroduced after being removed from sale, her price will be increased. For example, if WG wanted to price Musashi at 950k - having Missouri next to her at 750k would make Musashi obviously a poor deal.ģ. The only reason to remove Missouri would be some kind of metagame reason. There's no real in-game reason they have to remove Missouri to introduce Musashi you could easily have both and let players choose which to buy when (same as with Nelson). Sub_Octavian has posted a couple of different times that if they were going to price her now, she would most likely be a couple of hundred thousand XP more expensive - i.e. WG evidently feels like they ended up underpricing Missouri. Other thoughts on Missouri based on some recollections and reading:ġ.
